WE COMMIT TO CONNECT AT THE RIVER

Once we have committed to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, we need to connect with others who have made the same commitment. This is called the CHURCH. The Church of Jesus Christ is people. It is not the building on the corner or the institution with headquarters somewhere. The Church is made up of every genuine Believer and it transcends denominational lines and cultures and methods. It is a group of people who have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and then to each other. They are a people in covenant with one another. They agree to do life together. They have diverse backgrounds and practices but common vision, values, goals, purpose, and Lord. We are God’s family doing life together and forever in heaven. Being connected to other Christians is an essential part of the Christian life.

The Bible is clear that the Christian life is to be lived out in community with other Believers. We call this fellowship .

Biblical Community is something that must be pursued and developed. Relationships take time and one must pursue Biblical Community in ever deepening ways.

Membership at Riverbluff Church is very important to us, so we explore and explain the membership commitment before inviting people to become part of our church family. We want you to know our vision, our values, our purpose, and our structure before you before you decide to become part of our church family.

Exploring Church Membership

All of these are covered in our Exploring Church Membership Class which is offered every eight weeks on a Sunday afternoon. Membership is open to people over 16 who have completed the membership class and have committed to the Church Covenant.
