Outreach Programs

Salt ‘n Light Ministry is the name of our community food pantry and clothes closet. Our mission includes providing for basic human needs (food, clothing, & emergency financial help).  Clients receive job and educational information/referrals and knowledge of community services and other programs that may be qualified to receive.  When needed we are able to offer pastoral counseling, through Coy Meadows (on-site counselor) and other support groups, church referrals, etc. through networking with other faith-based programs.

Low income and needy families in our service area come once a month to receive needed food and hygiene items to help supplement food stamps and other low income programs they have been qualified under.  Our volunteers interview each family for information, qualification, prayer needs, and resources for other needs we can direct them to.

MP Kid’s Camp (7-week summer program) has been offered to children ages 4 through elementary school since 2005.  We average 60-80 children in the summer and the camp currently runs 3 days a week (4 hrs per day).  Through our partnership with Lifway and MFuge, adult/youth church teams work with our Camp Director to provide a weekly VBS program along with games, recreation and other activities.  We also provide a full lunch and snacks.

Our MP Kid’s Camp exists to provide a safe, loving place for at-risk community children during the summer to promote character building/Christian teachings and to show the love of Christ while sharing the Gospel story.

Making Ends Meet basic budget class is being offered quarterly to all clients at no cost.  We especially target clients who seek financial assistance.  The class has been made possible through our partnership with The Homeownership Resource Center (Div of Family Services).  They provide the materials and an instructor.  We have received many positive comments about the class.
