Tools of Recovery


The path to help, healing and hope through Celebrate Recovery is a journey.  To stay on the right path, the following “Tools of Recovery” will keep you moving forward and provide the support and strength needed to have victory.  Remember, with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, all things are possible!

  • Meeting – attend meetings faithfully and regularly
  • Prayer – communicate daily with God
  • God’s Word – read from the Life Recovery Bible daily.  Join a Bible study.
  • Quiet Time – read from one or more daily devotional books or booklets.
  • Accountability Partner – find someone (of the same sex) who will walk with you on your journey and encourage you along the way.
  • Sponsor – listen carefully in meetings and ask someone who has what you want to be your guide, mentor and coach
  • Step Work – join a Step-Study group or work your steps with your sponsor using the Celebrate Recovery Participant’s Guides (available at the literature table)
  • Telephone – take a phone list from the Friday meetings and begin to call others on the lis
  • Journaling – buy a simple notebook and begin to write a gratitude list, your feelings, your struggles and your victories.
  • Service – get out of yourself and sign up for the Celebrate Recovery team.
  • Worship – make the time to Worship on Sunday mornings.
  • Fellowship – join the fun!  Attend a special Celebrate Recovery function or meet someone from your group for lunch or coffee.
  • Reading – read books, articles, and pamphlets about your issues.
  • Listening – tapes are a great way to learn and process.  Turn your radio to Christian radio or listen to Praise and Worship music.
